Route for the 2015 Tour de France leaked
So with the date of the official release of the route for the 2015 Tour de France almost apon us more and more rumours and leaked information is coming out. Despite the official route not being announced until later this week, a leaked report has revealed what is expected to be the official route the Tour will be taking next July.
The grand depart spends three days in the Netherlands with the starts in Utrecht before heading in a anti clockwise direction through Belgium and across the top end of France from east to west ending (Cambrai, Arras, Amiens) and take the road (Fougeres, Rennes, Vannes …) via Normandy (Le Havre, Livarot) to Brittany.
The Tour then jumps to the south of France for 3 gruelling stages in the Pyrenees. It then heads back north east through the Massif Central before heading for the final week in the Alpes.
Most noticeably the final mountain stage will be from Modane to Alpe d’Huez over the Col du Galibier.
As usual the final stage on July 26th July will take lead into Paris and finish on the Champs-Elysées.
The route with more detail will be officially announced on Wednesday the 22nd October.
