Town:

Les Portes du Soleil is the worlds largest lift assisted mountain bike network linking both French and Swiss Alpes and connects resorts such as Morzine, Les Gets, Chatel, Avoriaz  and Morgins.  Set between the backdrop of Lac Geneva (Lac Léman) and Mont Blanc the entire area is blessed with spectacular scenery. Apart from a couple of relatively modern high altitude purpose built resorts, the others have predominately grown from traditional farming villages. This gives the area a really traditional feel with many businesses occupying beautifully renovated farm chalets.

Thanks to the quality and the abundance of world class mountain biking, many of the resort have a definite British feel with thousands making the journey each summer in search of the ultimate trail. Thus the bars, restaurants and numerous bike shops all do a raring trade.
