Bourg Saint Maurice located in the Savoir region of the French Alpes is the largest town in the Tarantaise valley. Linked by fenicular to the popular ski area of Les Arces and the Paradiski, it is a hugly popular destination for road cyclists planning to tackle some of the famous local climbs and mountain bikers keep to explore the vast network of trails in the various mountain resorts which surround the town.

The mountain region above Bourg Saint Maurice known as Paradiski is made up of the two mountain resorts of Les Arcs and La Plagne. The two areas are interconected by the impressive Vanoise Express Cable car. The entire region bosts over 350km of marked MTB trails. 

The Les Arcs area is made up of the mountain resorts of Peisey, Vallandry, Arcs 1600, Arcs 1800, Arcs 1950 and Arcs 2000.

La Plagne resort is made up of the town of La Plagne as well as mountain villages such as Montchavin, Les Coches, Mâcot La Plagne and Montalbert.


Road cycling Bourg Saint Maurice - Thanks to its valley position Bourg St Maurice is the ideal location for your road cycling holiday. It is surrounded by Tour du France and other classic cycling routes such as the Col de l'Iseran all the way up the valley, the Col du Petit St Bernard on the boarder with Italy and the Cormet de Roseland with its breathtaking views over Mont Blanc.

Mountain Biking 

Les Arcs is home to some of the best cross country, single track and downhill trails in France. With an altitude drop of over 2000 meters and trails all the way into Bourg St. Maurice, the area promises trails for all level and style of rider.

La Plagne - The altitude range is from 2739m down to 690m. Recent development have seen huge advances for mountain biking in the highest parts of the domain, through the village sites, right down into the valley and along the banks of the Isère river. The area and altitude range accessible from both the summer lift system as well as free busses provides a vast area for mountain bikers to explore.

Tignes/Val d’Isere has focused much of its attention on developing a huge selection of manmade downhill tracks with loads of interesting, jumps northshore and huge berm sections. As with most places in the Alpes single track is everywhere, but often shared with walkers, so attention must be taken during busy periods. The area is service by 5 chairlift and gondola as well as uplift services from satellite villages, all of which are FREE during the summer.
