Town:

Bédoin is a popular family holiday destination in the commune of Vaucluse, at the foot of Mont Ventoux. A beautiful market village surrounded by vineyards producing well known Rhone valley wine, peach orchards, sunflowers and lavender and blessed with a Mediterranean climate. The village itself is small but bustling with cafes spilling out onto the narrow streets. The surrounding typical Provence countryside is littered with beautiful stone farmhouses, many converted as guesthouses.

Biking:

The Village of Bédoin is the starting point of the most popular road cycling route up the legendary Mont Ventoux. Frequently visited by the Tour du France the summit has been used not just for numerous stage finishes but as a mountain pass to make use of the challenging descents back to the valley.

Cyclists visiting the region will of course have to take the pilgrimage to the summit of Mont Ventoux and perhaps take in the memorial to British cyclist  Tom Simpson who collapsed and died on the climb during the 1967 Tour du France stage between Le Bourg d’Oisans and Briancon. However the region remains a favorite for keen cycling families. The rolling hills and quiet roads and stunning scenery surrounding the village make it the ideal location for all level of road cyclist and mountain bikers.

The Col de La Madeleine 448m is located on a particularly beautiful stretch of road which clings to the contours of the hillside between Bédoin and the other popular cycling village of the region, Malaucène.

Het Dorp van Bédoin is het startpunt van de meest populaire weg fietsen route de legendarische Mont Ventoux.

Events:

Granfondo - Mont Ventoux - This event alternates the route taken to climb up the Mont Ventoux (via Bédoin or Malaucène) every other year. After a warm-up in the Col de la Chaine, you will climb to the summit of the terrible Mont Ventoux (1910m) via Malaucène, before descending on the other side towards Chalet Reynard and Sault. You will then get a chance to admire the "Géant de Provence" from every angle, riding around it through Aurel, Saint Léger du Ventoux and the Col de Veaux. The grand final will take you back to the Col de la Chaine and the gorgeous Dentelles de Montmirail before the finish line in Beaumes de Venise.

Club de Singles - Mont Ventoux - Climb the Mont Ventoux via all 3 different routes and become a member of the Club de Singles.
